RAMESHWAR SINGH MALIK, J Feeling aggrieved against the alleged inaction on the part of respondent authorities, petitioners have approached this court by way of instant writ petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, seeking a writ in the nature of Mandamus.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that when the genuine grievance of the petitioners was not being redressed by the respondent authorities, they finally approached the respondent authorities by way of self contained representation Annexure P-5, but the same is also pending decision. He further submits that the petitioners will be satisfied in case respondent no.2 is directed to consider and decide the representation of the petitioners, within a reasonable time. Having heard learned counsel for the petitioners and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, lest it should prejudice the Greesh Sahni 2016.08.19 14:36 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CWP No.16602 of 2016 rights of either of the parties, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jagraonrespondent no.2 is directed to look into the matter, consider the grievance of the petitioners raised in their representation vide Annexure P-5 and decide the same at an early date, by passing an appropriate order thereon, strictly in accordance with law, but in any case within a period of two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order and also keeping in view the directions issued by this court vide order dated 29.7.2013 passed in CWP No.16133 of 2013 (M/s R.N. Gupta and Company Limited Vs. State of Punjab and others) and order dated 9.1.2013 passed in CWP No.192 of 2013 (M/s Shree Ganpati Traders Vs. State of Punjab and others).

It is also directed that if the petitioners approach the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jagraon-respondent no.2, seeking any police protection, by moving an appropriate application, within a period of one week from today, he shall consider the grievance raised therein, assess the threat perception and shall take appropriate action thereon, at the earliest possible time, by passing an appropriate order thereon.

With the above said observations made and directions issued, instant writ petition stands disposed of.
