* * * * RAVI SHANKER JHA, C.J. (ORAL) The petitioner by way of the present public interest litigation prays for a direction to the respondent-authorities to remove encroachments on the main road at Phase VI, Mohali by vendors and vehicle repair mechanics for ensuring smooth flow of traffic.

The petitioner further prays for a writ of mandamus directing the respondent-authorities to take preventive action for stopping unscrupulous persons from raising encroachments/illegal structures over the main road at Phase VI, Mohali.

CM-4032-CWP-2020 and CM-18448-CWP-2022 have been filed by respondent No. 4 for placing on record the encroachment removal reports alongwith Annexures R-4/4 and R-5/5 in compliance of the order dated 12.02.2020 passed by this Court.

Learned senior counsel, appearing for respondents No. 3 and 6, on instructions from the officer concerned, submits that as on date the offending encroachments have been removed and there is free flow of traffic on the road in question.
