O/o DPI (SE) Punjab Jaswant Singh,J(Oral) Petitioner is an aspirant for appointment against 100 posts of Arts and Craft Teachers advertised on 9.9.2012. She belongs to General Category.

By filing present petition she has raised a grievance that inspite of her determined merit being 69.75 as per Annexure P-5 her name does not figure in the subsequent provisional list prepared at P-6. Upon notice the respondents have filed a short reply. It is not in dispute that merit determined on the basis of percentage of marks in the educational qualification, as stated by the petitioner is correct. However, as per general condition no.10 of the advertisement dated 9.9.2012(R-1) "the age of the candidate was to be between 18 to 38 years as on 1.1.2012". The candidature of the petitioner inspite of her merit has been rejected as she was under age as per stipulated Rajinder Parshad Joshi 2016.12.13 17:25 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP 16726/2016 criteria, since concededly the date of birth of the petitioner is 20.1.1994 and she was 17 years 11 months and 12 days as on 1.1.2012. In view of the aforesaid conceded position, no case for interference is made out.
