G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J. (Oral) Claim in the present writ petition is for issuance of direction to the respondents to correct the name of mother of the petitioner in the school certificates.

The petitioner's case is that the name of the mother is Harminder Kaur but by mistake, it has been mentioned as Jaswinder Kaur in the certificates issued by the respondent-Board. Accordingly, correction has been prayed for. A representation was filed on 15.06.2015 (Annexure P-6) but no action has been taken. Similarly, legal notice dated 03.07.2015 (Annexure P-8) has also been served upon the Board. Counsel submits that he would be satisfied at this stage if a direction is issued to the respondents to take a decision on the said legal notice within a time bound frame. Accordingly, without going into the merits of the case and the validity of the certificates, this Court does not feel necessary to call upon the State to file reply.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no. 2 to take into consideration the legal notice dated 03.07.2015 (Annexure P-8) and decide the same within a period of 2 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order.
