Their grievance is that their juniors have been promoted to the next higher rank of Principals vide order dated 9.6.2016(P-5) pursuant to the DPC convened on 18.5.2016 when the petitioners were still in service. Therefore, it is claimed that they should also be promoted as Principals from a date prior to their retirement and all retiral benefits be accordingly extended to them.

After arguing for sometime and faced with the prospect of imposition of heavy costs, learned counsel seeks permission to withdraw the petition.
