***** JASPAL SINGH, J By virtue of instant petition preferred under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, petitioner has sought issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to implement the policy/circular of Govt. of Punjab, Department of Personnel (Annexure P-3) dated 14.03.2017 to remove the anomaly in the pay and allowances along with consequential benefits like re-fixation of pay, its arrears along with interest @ 18% per annum from the date of his actual promotion till its realization. 2.

At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioner submits though representation dated 22.03.2018 (Annexure P-4) was moved to the respondents but till date neither any response has been received nor any conscious decision has been taken by them. Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the instant petition is disposed of with the direction to respondent No.3-The Principal Secretary, Water Resources Department/Irrigation and Power Department, Sector 9, Mini Secretariat, Chandigarh to look into the grievances unfolded by the petitioner in representation 22.03.2018 (Annexure P-4) and to decide the same keeping in view the policy/circular dated 14.03.2017 (Annexure P-3), within a period of 4 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.

In case, the petitioner still feels aggrieved against any of the order(s) passed by the concerned authority, he shall be at liberty to have recourse to the other remedies available under law including filing of writ petition.
