Jaswant Singh,J(Oral) Petitioner was appointed as Embroidery Instructor in Women Jail,Ludhiana on 28.3.2000 on compassionate grounds. She is claiming promotion to the post of Assistant Factory Supervisor governed by the Punjab Jails Departmental Clerical and Technical (State Service,Part-3) Rules,1962.

It is claimed that as per technical qualifications possessed by the petitioner and her seniority she is entitled to be promoted as Assistant Factory Supervisor under the promotion quota. She has,however, failed to place on record any seniority list on record. At the time of hearing,learned counsel for the petitioner prays for permission to withdraw the present petition with liberty to file a fresh one after obtaining copy of the tentative seniority list of the Technical cadre including the Embroidery Instructors.
