&/( The main relief sought by learned counsel for the petitioner by way of mandamus is to command the official respondents to decide the second appeal filed by the petitioner under the Labour and Cartage Policy of the Government of Punjab 2019.2020 within a time frame. 2.

Ms. Monica Chibber Sharma, learned Senior Deputy Advocate General, Punjab on the basis of the instructions states that the appeal is fixed for hearing on 16.07.2019 before the Principal Secretary, Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Punjab.

Learned counsel for both the parties are in agreement that this petition may be disposed of at this stage with a direction to the concerned authority to decide the second appeal expeditiously preferably on the date fixed for hearing of the same.

Considering the facts, we dispose of this petition by directing respondent No.1 to make all endeavour to decide the second appeal filed by the petitioner pending before him on 16.07.2019 the date fixed therein or in any case not later than a week from the said date.
