(ORAL) In the present writ petition, petitioner is seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to implement the order dated 04.10.2017 (Annexure P-4) passed by the Chief Engineer, Irrigation Department, Punjab, which according to the petitioner, had already been passed granting relief to him.

Counsel for the petitioner argues that despite the fact that more than two years has elapsed, but the respondents are not implementing the abovesaid order and granting the relief for which the petitioner has been found entitled by the competent authority. Counsel for the petitioner submits that for the relief which has been sought in the present writ petition, petitioner has served the respondents with a legal notice dated 03.06.2019 (Annexure P-5), which NARESH KUMAR 2019.07.12 12:00 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CWP-18309-2019 -2is still pending consideration with the respondents and the petitioner will be satisfied, at this stage, in case a time bound direction is issued to the respondents to decide the said legal notice.

In view of the request made, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioner, the respondents are directed to decide the legal notice dated 03.06.2019 (Annexure P-5) by passing a speaking order within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. Present writ petition stands disposed of.
