(Oral) The prayer in the instant petition is as follows :- "It is therefore, respectfully prayed that the present petition may kindly be accepted and petitioner may kindly be grant interim regular bail for a period of 8 weeks to the petitioner due to demise of the father of the petitioner on 21.06.2024, in case FIR No. 70 Dated 04.08.2023 Under Sections 21 (C), (offence under Section 29 added later on) of NDPS Act, 1985 Police Station Verowal, District Tarn Taran, in the interest of justice." On 27.06.2024, notice of motion was issued and the learned State counsel was directed to seek specific clear instructions from the concerned quarters.
Today, learned State counsel (on instructions from ASI Balkar Singh) has informed this Court that the Bhog ceremony of the deceased father of the petitioner is indeed fixed for 30.06.2024. Keeping in view the entirety of facts and circumstances of the case; especially that the petitioner (herein) is involved in two NDPS cases including the present one; it is directed that Superintendent, Central Jail, Sri PARVINDER SINGH 2024.06.28 13:50 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document chandigarh
CRM-M-30699-2024 Goindwal Sahib, Punjab shall make all necessary arrangements for taking the petitioner, in custody, to attend the Bhog ceremony of his father on 30.06.2024. The Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran is directed to provide requisite support, including police escort, to the said Superintendent for compliance of this order.
