Prayer in this criminal writ petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus for directing the official respondent No.2 to provide adequate security and protection to the lives and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of respondents No.4 to 7 as well as their henchmen/relatives. Further prayer has been made for directing the respondent No.3 and their officials not to interfere in the peaceful lives of the petitioners and not to raiding their houses time and again. 2.

At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that let this petition be disposed of only with a direction to the Superintendent of Police, Panipat (respondent No.2) to consider and decide the representation dated 25.06.2024 (Annexure P-5) alleged to have been submitted by the petitioner No.1 seeking protection for their lives and personal liberty.
