(ORAL) (The aforesaid presence is being recorded through video conferencing since the proceedings are being conducted in virtual court) By way of filing the present writ petition, the petitioner has sought issuance of writ in the nature of certiorari for quashing the action of the respondents vide which the claim of the petitioner for promotion to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police was not considered whereas juniors, who were lower in merit in the selection list dated 15.12.1994 (P-1) issued by the Secretary, Subordinate Service Selection Board, Haryana were promoted as Deputy Superintendent of Police vide orders dated 29.05.2018 (P-4) and 06.03.2019 (P-5) which is against the Punjab Police Rule 13.1 and 13.4 (1) against the instruction dated 05.04.1971 (P-2) and also against the constitutional law.

CWP-16656-2020 --2-- Learned counsel for the petitioner has fairly conceded that the purpose would be achieved if direction is issued to the respondent No.1 to look into the representation dated 17.03.2020 (P-7) and take appropriate action in accordance with law, in a timebound manner. Mr. Narinder Singh Behgal, AAG, Haryana has put in appearance on behalf of the respondent-State and apprise that the copy has not been supplied on account of some technical fault in the system.
Having heard learned counsel for the parties and after perusing the paper-book, but without commenting on merits of the case, instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondentNo.1, to look into the grievances unfolded in representation dated 17.03.2020 (P-7) and decide the same in accordance with law and if petitioner is found suitable as claimed by him, necessary orders be issued.
