**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL , J. (ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. This petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus seeking directions to respondents No. 3 and 4 to complete the investigation in complaint No. 1140 dated 22.6.2017/31.5.2017 (Annexure P-19) and complaint No. 63693 dated 16.10.2017 (Annexure P-21) in a time bound manner.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that respondent No. 5-Ravinder Kumar, who was posted at Nagar Panchayat, Mahilpur, District Hoshiarpur, had given false and frivolous complaints against petitioner No. 1 and his father, who later on committed suicide. He further submits that respondent No. 5 was suspended on 02.1.2017 and as per the communication received from Regional Deputy Director, Local Government, Jalandhar, respondent No. 5 was also found guilty but the GURPREET SINGH 2020.10.26 15:31 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chadigarh

CWP No. 17519 of 2020 -2investigations in the complaints filed against respondent No. 5 have been pending since 2017 and have not been decided till date. Notice of motion to respondents No. 1 to 4 only. On the asking of the Court, Mr. Suveer Sheokand, Addl. A.G., Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the State. He has pointed out that respondents No. 3 and 4 are the investigating agencies before whom the complaints are pending.

Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the present case, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondents No. 3 and 4 to decide the complaints filed by the petitioners, which are pending since the year 2017, in a time bound manner.
