Prayer in this criminal writ petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus for directing the official respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of private respondents and not to interfere in the lives of the petitioners at the behest of private respondents and other relatives and friends. 2.
At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that let this petition be disposed of only with a direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Malerkotla (respondent No.2) to consider and decide the representation dated 22.06.2024 (Annexure P-4) alleged to have been submitted by the petitioners seeking protection for their lives and personal liberty.
