The present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus for directing respondents No.2 to 5 to appoint officiating Sarpanch against vacant post of Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Badha, Block and Tehsil Punhana, District Nuh (Mewat).

Ms. Upasana Dhawan, AAG, Haryana, who has appeared on behalf of respondent/State in this case, pursuant to the advance copy of petition having been sent to her, on instructions of Mr. Surjit, BDPO, Punhana, submits that the present petition has rendered infructuous as the officiating Sarpanch has already been appointed on 02.07.2024. 3.
