G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J. (Oral) Prayer made in the present writ petition is to make necessary corrections with regard to the date of birth in the middle standard certificate, matriculation certificate and also correction in the parents' name of the senior secondary certificate.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that the said claim is based on the birth certificate which was registered on 31.12.1986 (Annexure P-1) showing the date of birth as 16.12.1986 and the name of the father and mother as Surjit Singh and Swarn Kaur. It is further submitted that in pursuance of the same, the 5th class examination certificate (Annexure P-2) issued by the Board, the same date of birth was given. However, in the middle standard examination dated 21.05.2000 (Annexure P-3), the date of birth was shown as 16.12.1983. Similarly, in the matriculation certificate issued on 24.06.2002 (Annexure P-4) and in the senior secondary school certificate dated 02.06.2005 (Annexure P-5), the wrong date of birth was mentioned. CWP No. 17286 of 2016 in Annexure P-5. Counsel submits that a representation dated 27.07.2016 (Annexure P-7) has already been filed with the respondent-Board and he would be satisfied if a time bound decision is taken by respondent no. 2 on the said representation since the corrections are required for applying for an passport and on account of discrepancies, there is a difficulty. Keeping in view the limited controversy involved, this Court does not feel it necessary to call upon the respondent-Board since the decision making process is still to be completed. Accordingly, without commenting on the merits of the case and the right of the petitioner as such, the present writ petition is disposed of with direction to respondent no. 2 to decide the representation dated 27.07.

2016 (Annexure P-7) within a period of 2 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order. Needless to say if the relief is to be denied, reasoned order be passed and conveyed to the petitioner. 26.08.2016 (G.S.
