Present:

Mr. Vikas Singh, Advocate, for the petitioners.

Mr. Avinit Avashti, AAG, Punjab.

Mr. Gagandeep Singh, Advocate, for respondents no. 2 to 4.

G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J. (Oral) This order shall dispose of two writ petitions i.e. CWP Nos. 21744 and 23454 of 2013 as common questions of facts and law are involved in both the writ petitions. For reference, CWP No. 21744 of 2013, Prem Singh Mittal and others vs. State of Punjab and others is being taken up.

Prayer in the present writ petition is for quashing the notices dated 10.09.2013 (Annexures P-7 and P-8) whereby, the respondents are seeking to terminate the services of the petitioners before the expiry of the SHIVANI GUPTA 2015.11.27 13:00 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CWP No. 21744 of 2013 term.

Notice of motion was issued on 30.09.2013 on account of the fact that the service contract of the petitioners stood already extended upto 30.06.2014 and the services could not be dispensed with till the next date of hearing. The said date has long expired.

The respondent-authority has justified the termination on account of the fact that a policy decision was taken that the retired officers and employees working under the Mid-Day-Meal scheme will continue till the age of 65 years on 21.11.2013. The said order is not a subject matter of challenge in the present writ petition.

Keeping in view the limited relief sought, the present writ petitions are rendered infructuous and are disposed of as such. Accordingly, all interim orders stand vacated. 18.11.2015 (G.S.
