KARAMJIT SINGH , J. (Oral) The case has been taken up through Video Conferencing due to prevailing situation of COVID-19.

As per the pleadings on the record, the petitioner was allotted the construction work vide work order dated 16.11.2016. The grievance of the petitioner is that in spite of the work having been executed and completed, payment of Rs.4,88,720 (approximately) has not been released by the respondents.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that with regard to the outstanding payment, a legal notice dated 12.01.2020 (Annexure P-2) has already been served and he would be satisfied if the instant writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the concerned authority to act upon the aforesaid legal notice within a stipulated time frame. In view of the above and without ascertaining the correctness of the averments made in the petition, I deem it appropriate to dispose of the instant writ petition with a direction to respondent No.4, i.e., Divisional Engineer, Lining Division No.7, Punjab Water Resources Management and VIRENDRA SINGH ADHIKARI 2020.10.14 05:15 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP-16853-2020 -2Development Corporation Ltd., Zila Parishad, Bathinda, to examine the claim of the petitioner in the light of the legal notice dated 12.01.2020 (Annexure P2) and to take the final decision thereupon, expeditiously and in any case, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of the certified copy of this order. In case, any outstanding amount found due, the same should be released to the petitioner without any delay. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of without commenting upon the merits of the case.
