Petitioner was enrolled as a Constable in Punjab police on 11.9.1989. He passed Armour Course from EME Center, Secunderabad in the year 2003. After passing said course he was posted as an Assistant Armourer with Head Armourer-Chanchal Singh in Armourer Workship,Amritsar. Head Armourer-Chanchal Singh retired as such on 31.5.2012 rendering the said post vacant. In the instant petition, petitioner alleges that in similar situations, similarly situated candidates in other districts have been appointed as Head Armourer but no action is being taken in his case despite his making representation dated 22.3.2014 in this regard.

Upon notice reply has been filed stating therein that after considering the case of the petitioner for promotion as Head Constable Rajinder Parshad Joshi 2017.03.28 10:05 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP 19592/2014 (Armourer) necessary orders promoting petitioner as Head Constable (Armourer) have been passed in this regard on 19.9.2016, rendering the instant writ petition as infructuous. Copy of order dated 19.9.2016 has been annexed with the reply.

Learned counsel for the petitioner in view of the contents of reply and order dated 19.9.2016 concedes that the instant writ petition has been rendered infructuous.

Dismissed as infructuous.
