**** RAJ MOHAN SINGH, J. (Oral) The case has been taken up for hearing through videoconferencing. Petitioner has preferred this petition for the issuance of an appropriate writ specially in the nature of mandamus, directing the official respondents to get the meter bearing A/C No.M52RN132009Y reinstalled in the name of the petitioner at his premises.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that meter in question was installed outside the premises of his house.

Respondent No.9 is the daughter-in-law of the petitioner and she intentionally paid some pending amount against the electric connection which was otherwise in the name of the petitioner. Thereafter, she moved an application to the Department, in collusion with respondent No.8, who was working as JE in SubDivision Jalalabad, (West) District Fazilka for uprooting of the meter from the premises of the petitioner and issuance of the same in the name of respondent No.9. The meter has already been uprooted from the premises of the petitioner in an illegal manner. For the re-installation of the meter at the site of the petitioner, he has already filed an application before respondent No.6 on 04.02.2021 (Annexure P-3) but the same has not been adverted to by respondent No.6, so far.

Notice of motion.

On the asking of the Court Mr.T.P.S Chawla, DAG Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1, 4 and 7. In view of nature of order which this Court proposes to pass, there is no necessity of calling upon response from the respondents at this stage, as no order prejudicial to the interest of any of the party is being passed.

This petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.6 to decide the representation dated 04.02.2021 by passing speaking order in accordance with law preferably

within a period of one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
