The petitioner seek issuance of directions to the official respondents to protect his life and liberty as he apprehends threat to the same at the hands of the private respondents No.4 to 8.

It is the case of the petitioner that he was in love with Arashdeep Kaur daughter of respondents No.4 and 5 and they wish to marry each other but in view of the fact that Arashdeep Kaur is a minor, they decided to wait till she attains majority. It is specifically averred that respondents No.4 to 8 did not agree with the proposal of marriage and wanted to forcibly marry Arashdeep Kaur to some other person.

Learned State counsel has informed that FIR No.65, dated 2.8.2022 at Police Station Kalanaur, District Gurdaspur, under Sections 363 and 366-A of PANKAJ KAKKAR 2023.01.17 17:13 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

( 2 ) CRWP-7400-2022 (O&M) Indian Penal Code was lodged against the petitioner, wherein he was arrested and has now been released on bail.

Having regard to the aforestated factual position, it is apparent that the petitioner had moved this petition apprehending his arrest. Since the petitioner already stands arrested in the aforesaid FIR i.e. FIR No.65, dated 2.8.2022 and has been released on bail, this Court does not deem appropriate to issue any direction at this stage particularly when the petitioner has not even chosen to appear before this Court and to apprise this Court about the latest position. The petition, as such, is dismissed. 5.

It is, however, made clear that in case at a later stage the petitioner apprehends any threat, it shall be open to the petitioner to approach this Court again.
