The petitioner has approached this Court seeking issuance of directions to transfer investigation pertaining to FIR No.121, dated 29.7.2022, Police Station City Jalalabad, under Sections 452, 323, 379-B, 506, 120-B and 148 of Indian Penal Code, outside the jurisdiction of Ferozpur Range and Faridkot Range or to an officer not below the rank of Superintendent of Police or AIG posted at Bureau of Investigation (Punjab), at Chandigarh. 2.

Mr. Harpreet S. Multani, AAG, Punjab, upon whom an advance copy of petition had already been served has informed that representation dated 31.7.2022 (Annexure P-1) has been examined at the level of respondent No.3-Director Bureau of Investigation, Punjab and the investigation is going to be transferred outside the jurisdiction of Ferozpur Range and Faridkot Range.

In view of the aforesaid statement made by learned State counsel, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he may be permitted to withdraw the present petition.
