***** Rakesh Kumar Jain, J. (Oral) This petition is filed for seeking directions to respondents No.1 to 5 to decide the representation (Annexure P-3 and P-4) filed by the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that respondent Gian Singh was earlier appointed as Lambardar of village Jhugian Dogran, Tehsil Sultanpur Lodhi, District Kapurthala by Deputy Commissioner, Kapurthala vide order dated 03.05.2013. Thereafter, the same person was elected as Sarpanch of village Goindwal Sahib, District Tarn Taran on 03.07.2013. It is submitted that the petitioner had no objection with regard to Gian Singh's appointment as Lambardar, therefore, he did not challenge the same but once he has been elected as Sarpanch also, he has made two representations to the concerned authority to remove him from the post of Lambardar as he cannot hold two posts at the same Sonia Bura 2017.07.20 14:57 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document chandigarh

Notice of motion was issued to which reply on behalf of respondents No.1 to 5 was filed.

Learned State counsel has submitted that the respondents have not decided the representations as the present petition is pending. He has further submitted that a direction may be issued in this regard. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with directions to respondents No.1 to 5 to decide the representations filed by the petitioner as early as possible preferably within four weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
