" etitioner has filed this petition under Section 439 of Cr.P.C. for grant of regular bail in case FIR No. 173 dated 07.10.2018, registered under Sections 21, 22, 29 and 32 of the NDPS Act, at Police Station Division B, District Amritsar.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was not named in the FIR; that the petitioner was neither arrested from the sport, nor any recovery was effected from him; that the petitioner was indicted in the present case on the disclosure statement of co-accused Zorawar Singh; that at one stage, the petitioner was declared a proclaimed offender; that the car used by co-accused Zorawar Singh was owned by him; that even in another case, no recovery was effected from the petitioner and that the petitioner has been in custody since 17.04.2021. The petitioner has been in custody since 17.04.2021. No recovery was effected from the petitioner. Remaining 14 prosecution witnesses are yet to be examined. Therefore, the conclusion of the trial would take a long time. Hence, no useful purpose would be served by keeping the petitioner behind the bars.
