(ORAL) Instant petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents No. 1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondent Nos. 4 to 8 and his friends and relatives and to ensure safety of the personal life, liberty and property of the petitioners which is under eminent threat at the hands of private respondents.

Learned State counsel has filed status report which is taken on record and relevant paragraph of the status report is reproduced as under:- "7. That it is respectfully submitted that keeping in view the totality of the facts and submissions made hereinabove, it is evident that the present petitioner Gurinder Kaur and Dilbag Singh are living together in the house of the petitioner No. 2-Dilbag Singh safely and peacefully and they are not having any kind of danger from respondent No. 4-Gurdeep Singh (who has expired) or anyone else and petitioners have themselves stated that they do not require any kind of security. Therefore, the present petition is liable to be dismissed."

In view of the status report in hand, no further order is required to be passed.
