The prayer wrapped in the instant writ petition is for issuance of a direction to the respondents No.2 and 3 to consider and decide the petitioner's applications (Annexure P-4) seeking regular extension of his small stage carriage permits on the rural route from Jagraon to Lopo, within a stipulated time period.

Mr. Sahil R. Bakshi, A.A.G., Punjab, who is in receipt of an advance copy of the writ petition and represents the respondents, submits, on instructions from Ms. Poonampreet Kaur, P.C.S., Secretary, R.T.A., Patiala, that there is no objection in case a direction is issued to the respondent concerned to decide the applications (supra) within a stipulated time period.

In view of the above, without evincing any opinion as regards the merits of the writ petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the DEVINDER YADAV 2026.05.20 09:52 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CWP-15645-2026 competent authority, amongst the respondents, to take a final decision on the applications (supra) within eight weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
