(ORAL) The instant writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to grant financial assistance to the petitioner as per the policy of the Government on account that a family member of the petitioner had been killed by terrorists.

It was claimed in the writ petition that the petitioner would be entitled to a sum of ` 2 lacs and since the petitioner had not paid any compensation under the said policy, he had no option but to approach this writ Court.

As per the reply and the record produced before this Court, the petitioner and his family members had been released a sum of ` one lac in terms of the policy i.e. a sum of ` 30,000/- had been released as per Satyawan 2017.05.10 16:52 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document High Court Chandigarh

CWP No. 19535 of 2015 -2ex-gratia grant as mentioned in the Ex-gratia register dated 12.07.1993 at Sr. No. 844, a sum of ` 20,000/- by cheque No. 100552 dated 07.08.1992 and release of a sum of ` 50,000/- on 03.07.1996 finds mention in the register as maintained for Indira Vikas Patra at Sr. No. 468. Mr. L.S.Virk, learned Addl. A.G., Punjab argues that in all a sum of ` 1,00,000/- has been paid and nothing is payable and due as on date. A photocopy of the relevant entries of the registers are being retained on the Court file. At this juncture, the petitioner Banta Singh has put in appearance and filed his affidavit which is duly attested by the Executive Magistrate, Tarn Taran wherein he has submitted on oath that he had received the amounts as reflected. The affidavit is taken on the record as mark "A" along with his identity proof which is "Voter Identity Card" duly thumb marked by him as mark "P".

In view of the fact that the amount as claimed in the writ petition has been received by the petitioner and his family members, no further orders are called for and the writ petition is disposed of accordingly. 09.05.2017 (JAISHREE THAKUR) Satyawan JUDGE Whether speaking/reasoned Yes.
