(ORAL) The petitioner herein prays for a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No. 1 and 2 to implement the notification dated 23.08.2010 (Annexure P-2) issued by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) for the purpose of recruitment of ETT teachers.

It is urged that prior to the institution of this petition, the respondents were even served with a legal notice dated 06.02.2018 (Annexure P-4) and even though the State Government vide its letter dated 20.02.2018 (Annexure P-5) required the Director, Education Department (Elementary Education), Punjab to respond to the legal notice served by the petitioner, the matter has not made any tangible progress.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that at this stage let this petition be disposed of only with a direction to respondents No. 1 and 2 to look into the grievance of the petitioner and deal with the legal notice, the respondents have been served with.

That being so, the petition is disposed of at this stage only with a direction to respondents No. 1 and 2 to consider and deal with the legal notice dated 06.02.2018 (Annexure P-4) and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the receipt of the certified copy of this order.
