Prayer in this writ petition filed by the petitioner under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to release the remaining amount of service-cum-retirement dues of the petitioner including Gratuity, Provident Fund, Leave Encashment, Revised Payscale, arrears of revised pay-scale and all other benefits, along with interest for delayed period.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner retired from service on 30.06.2023 and only a total sum of Rs.8.19 lacs has been paid, however, the remaining amount of retiral benefits have not been paid to the petitioner. He confines his prayer for deciding legal notice dated 14.05.2024 (Annexure P-4). CWP No.14914 of 2024 (O&M) at this stage, petitioner would be satisfied, if the said legal notice is decided by passing a speaking order within a time bound frame. 3.

Mr. Rajesh Sehgal, Addl. A.G., Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and has no objection to the innocuous prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the record of the case.

Without going into the merits of the case at this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4 to decide legal notice dated 14.05.2024 (Annexure P-4), expeditiously submitted by the petitioner by passing a speaking order, preferably within a period of 03 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
