The instant writ petition has been filed seeking a writ in the nature of certiorari for quashing selection dated 13.08.2014 and appointment letters issued thereafter to respondents No. 6 to 8. The petitioner is aggrieved herein by the appointment offered to respondents No. 6 to 8 by Thanesar Cooperative Society Ltd. District Kurukshetra.

It is well settled that no writ petition would lie against a Cooperative Society as held in Umarani vs. Registrar, Cooperative Society and others, 2004(7) SCC 112 wherein it has been held that a Cooperative Society is not a "State" within the meaning of Article 12 of the Constitution of India.

CWP-1514-2017 -2Moreover, the petitioner has also not been able to explain as to why there is an inordinate delay of 21⁄2 years in challenging appointments of respondents No. 6 to 8. Resultantly, the writ petition is hereby dismissed as not maintainable.
