**** SANDEEP MOUDGIL , J.(ORAL) This petition has been filed by the petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of direction for releasing the detenue-petitioner with immediate effect as he has already completed the awarded sentence of three years in case FIR No.02 dated 05.01.2020 under Sections 3, 34, 20 of Indian Passport Act and Section 14 of Foreigner Act, registered at Police Station Khalra, District Tarn Taran vide judgment and sentence order dated 16.03.2022 (Annexure P-1) from the illegal custody of respondent No.4.

A copy of letter dated 27.08.2024 issued by Government of India has been filed stating that repatriation of petitioner Tariq Mehmood s/o Mohammad Munir was approved on 06.09.2024 and, therefore, the instant SANGEETA 2024.09.16 19:45 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRWP-6892-2023 petition has been rendered infructuous. The same is taken on record as Document-A.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in view of the aforesaid letter the present petition has been rendered infrucutous. In view of above, the present petition having been rendered infructuous and is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. However, the petitioner would be at liberty to revive the instant petition by moving an appropriate application, if need so arises at any stage.
