The present petition has been filed under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for short-'BNSS') for quashing of FIR No. 73 dated 12.04.2024 under Sections 406, 420, 506, 120-B IPC registered at Police Station Navi Baradari District Police Commissionerate Jalandhar (P-1) and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise dated 10.03.2025 (Annexure P-2). 2.

Mr. Kamalpreet Bawa, DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State. Learned State counsel states that no other FIR has been registered against the petitioners and they have no known criminal antecedents. 4.

Ms. Anamika Sheoran, Advocate appears and accepts notice on behalf of respondent No.2. She has filed her memorandum of appearance in the Court today and the same is taken on record. She has filed the original affidavit of respondent No.2 in the Court and the same is taken on record as Annexure P-3. In that view of the matter, even if this case is taken to its logical conclusion, it would only be an exercise in futility as the parties have already settled their differences. Therefore, no purpose would be served in wasting the time and resources of the State in pursuing this case to its pre-ordained end. It would, therefore, be better to give a quietus to the issue at this stage. 6.

Accordingly, the petition is allowed and FIR No. 73 dated 12.04.2024 under Sections 406, 420, 506, 120-B IPC registered at Police Station Navi Baradari District Police Commissionerate Jalandhar (P-1) and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise dated 10.03.2025 (Annexure P-2) shall stand quashed qua the petitioners.
