Pursuant to order dated 07.07.2023, learned counsel for petitioners has tendered an affidavit of the petitioners stating threat perception to them, the same is taken on record. Perused contents of the petition along with Annexures thereof. 3.

Pleaded case is that both petitioners are major and it is their first marriage. Both are adults, wife 18-year and 5-month old and husband 25-year and 6-month old and, thus fully capable and legally competent to take decision to choose their respective life partners. In the premise, petition is disposed of with a direction to respondents No.2 and 3 i.e. Senior Superintendent of Police, Sri Muktsar Sahib and Station House Officer, Police Station Lakhewali, Tehsil & District Sri Muktsar Sahib, respectively that the contents of the representation dated 04.07.2023 (Annexure P-5) seeking protection of life and liberty be duly verified. If warranted, requisite steps be taken, in accordance with law for grant of protection of life and liberty to the petitioners. It is clarified that this order shall neither be treated as a stamp of this Court qua marriage of the petitioners nor any reflection on the merits of the contentions raised by them in the present petition. 4.

Present petition stands disposed of.

Keeping in view threat perception at the hands of private respondents, as contended by learned counsel, a copy of this order be given dasti under the signatures of Bench Secretary of the Court.
