This matter is being taken up for hearing through video conferencing due to outbreak of the pandemic, COVID-19. Present petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondents to hand over possession of House No.54, Type-III, Panjab University Campus, Sector 25, Chandigarh as the said house is stated to be allotted to the petitioner. Further prayer is for issuing direction to the respondents not to allot and give possession of the said house to any other employee of the respondentUniversity. CWP No.18768 of 2019(O&M) [2] present writ petition is rendered infructuous as House No.54, Type-III, Ground Floor, Panjab University Campus, Sector 25, Chandigarh has been allotted to the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner does not dispute that the said house has indeed been allotted to the petitioner, though it is submitted that certain maintenance works need to be completed in the said house. Be that as it may, present writ petition is disposed of as infructuous. Petitioner is at liberty to approach the respondent-authorities for carrying out the maintenance works as may be required by way of filing a representation within three weeks, which needless to say be considered in accordance with law and permissible works be carried out. Pending application/s, if any, is/are accordingly disposed of. ( LISA GILL ) December 07 , 2021.
