(ORAL) Instant writ petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India has been filed for issuance of a direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to prepare a fresh voters list of each of the wards and to divide the wards as per Rule 6 of the De-limitation of Wards of Municipalities Rules, 1972.
As per Rule 6(c) of the De-limitation of Wards of Municipalities Rules, 1972 each municipality shall be divided into wards in such a manner that the population of each ward, as far as practicable, is the same throughout the municipality with a variation upto 10 per cert above or below the average population figures.
