Mr. Vishwajeet Bedi, Advocate for the petitioner. ******* SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) Learned counsel for the petitioner confines his submissions to the extent that directions may be issued to the Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana to look into the threat to life and liberty of the petitioner from the hands of private respondents and take appropriate action. Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this petition is allowed. Respondent No.2-Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana will look into the representation of petitioner qua the threat to his life and liberty and that of his family members; verify the same and take appropriate action, in accordance with law.

It is, however, made clear that nothing contained in this order shall be interpreted as giving any type of liberty or protection to the petitioner in any criminal, civil or other proceedings pending or instituted against him.
