The petitioners through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India are seeking direction to respondents to release payment with respect to work carried out by them for the respondent.

Learned State Counsel submits that admitted liability would be discharged within four months from today subject to verification. 3.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that respondent may be subjected to interest @ 6% per annum from the date of passing bills.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of with a direction to respondent to release payment to the petitioners within four months from today. If payment is not released within aforesaid period, the respondent would be liable to pay interest @ 9% per annum from the expiry of said period. The petitioners are at liberty to approach appropriate authority qua disputed amount, if any. 5.
