In the present case, the petitioner is praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to pay interest @ 18% per annum on delayed release of retiral benefits from the date, retiral benefits were due and she further prayed that interest may also be given on delayed deposit of amount of provident fund with the concerned authority as per the Punjab General Provident Fund Rules.

Today, learned counsel for respondent No.2 has appeared and filed his memo of appearance and supplied a copy of the revised speaking DINESH 2025.05.31 15:30 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

 

  order dated 27.05.2025 to the Court, which is taken on record and a copy of the same is also given to learned counsel for the petitioner. 3.

As per the aforesaid revised speaking order, additional amount of Rs.1,76,055/- has been paid to the petitioner as interest on account of delay in releasing the retiral benefits and also on account of delay in deposit the amount of provident fund with the concerned authority. 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that although the abovesaid amount has been released to the petitioner, however, as per him, the petitioner is entitled for higher amount as per law as such, he want to challenge the abovesaid revised speaking order. 5.

In view of the above, learned counsel for the petitioner does not want to press the present writ petition, however, with liberty to challenge the abovesaid revised speaking order.
