STATE OF PUNJAB AND ORS ..Respondents CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE ANIL KSHETARPAL

Present:

Mr. R.K. Arora, Advocate Mr. H.C. Arora, Advocate and Ms. Payal Mehta, Advocate Mr. Sandeep Arora, Advocate Mr. Inayat Khullar, Advocate for the petitioners.

Mr. Vikas Mohan Gupta, Addl. A.G., Punjab.

ANIL KSHETARPAL, J(Oral) 1.

A batch of 11 connected writ petitions (details whereof are at the foot of the order) have come up for final disposal. 2.

The petitioners are part time lecturers working in the various institutions run by the Department of Technical and Industrial Training. They pray for the direction to the respondents to pay them equivalent to their regular counterparts. They were initially being paid at the rate of Rs.250/- per hour, which was enhanced to Rs.275/- per hour and subsequently enhanced to Rs.300/- per hour by a decision taken recently. 3.

After having heard the learned counsel counsel representing the parties and more particularly in view of the judgment passed by the Supreme Court in State of Bihar Vs. Bihar Secondary Teachers Struggle Committee, Munger, (2019) 18 SCC 301, this Court does not find it appropriate to issue any direction, however, the writ petitions are disposed of with the observations that the respondent-State will consider petitioners claim sympathetically.

MOHD AYUB 2023.05.04 15:19 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment.

CWP-20955-2014 (O&M) and -2other connected cases 4.

Needless to observe that the petitioners shall have liberty to file representation to the competent authority in order to justify their claim. 5.

All the pending miscellaneous applications, if any, are also disposed of.
