...Respondent(s)

CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE G.S.SANDHAWALIA

Present:

Mr. S.L. Chander Shekhar, Advocate, for the petitioner.

G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J. (Oral) The petitioner seeks the benefit of appointment on compassionate grounds on account of death of her father-Kewal Singh ASI No. 1230/Ferozepur at the hands of terrorists on 04.04.1989. It is the case of the petitioner that her brother Sarabjit Singh was recruited in the 5th Commando Battalion at that point of time. However, he left the service. The petitioner had been married to H.C. Baljit Singh, who died in an accident on 02.10.2012 and an application had been given for a job for her son Jobanpreet Singh, who is allegedly stated to be a minor. The mother of the petitioner then filed an application for appointment of the petitioner on compassionate grounds to respondent no. 5, which has been forwarded to respondent no. 4 on 18.07.2013. It is submitted that the petitioner appeared before the Recruitment Committee on 04.12.2014 but no action has been taken and an application has also been filed for granting exemption in the age (Annexure P-11).
