Ms. Meenu Salvan, Advocate for the petitioner. JASWANT SINGH, J (ORAL) The grievance of the petitioner is that although the petitioner had forgone his promotion as Senior Assistant on 30.7.2012 and was, thus, debarred from seeking promotion for next two years, his case for promotion as Senior Assistant, thereafter was never considered till he superannuated on 31.3.2016. The service tenure of the petitioner, thereafter, is stated to have been extended for one year under the Extension Policy. On the previous date, learned state counsel was directed to seek instructions. In pursuance of the same, at the time of hearing today, learned state counsel, on instructions from Sh. Sarbjit Singh, Legal Assistant along with Sh. Sandeep, Sr.

Assistant O/o DPI (SE), Punjab has informed that the petitioner along with similarly situated employees has since been promoted as Senior Assistant w.e.f 31.3.2016 vide order dated 22.9.2016 thereby rendering the present writ petition as infructuous.

CWP No.19348 of 2016 #2# Senior Assistant and so would be effective towards retiral benefits whenever released.

In response, learned counsel for the petitioner in the light of the stand of the respondents-State, concedes that nothing more requires to be adjudicated.

In view of the above, present writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. Respondent-State shall be bound by their aforesaid stand.
