The matter is taken up for hearing through video conference due to COVID-19 situation.

The present petition is filed seeking directions to Senior Superintendent of Police, Pathankot and Station House Officer, Police Station, Narot Jaimal Singh to provide adequate security to the petitioner. It is pleaded that the petitioner is an ex-Sarpanch of the village and during his tenure, he had taken certain steps to remove the encroachments on the property of the Panchayat, as a result the persons affected by such proceedings are threat perception to the petitioner. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is even ready to bear the salary of the security personnel, if provided to him.      Learned counsel for the State appearing on advance notice submits that the issue raised in the representation dated 12.9.2020 would be looked into expeditiously.

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of. Let the decision be taken by the official respondents at the earliest but not later than 7.11.2020. In case, threat perception is found and it is decided to provide security, the petitioner will also be informed about the monthly expenses to be borne by him.
