AMIT RAWAL J. (Oral) Prayer in the present writ petition is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus for directing the respondents to correct place of birth Hoshiarpur (Punjab) instead of Yamuna Nagar (Haryana) in the passport No.G6467406 dated 18.12.2007 (Annexure P-1).

The writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to take decision on application, pragmatically and objectively subject to the satisfaction provided that the petitioner will satisfy the requirement of concerned authority by furnishing the proof resulting into incorrect place of birth owing to inadvertence within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
