The prayer made in the present petition is for quashing the notice dated 05.06.2014 published in Jag Bani Newspaper, vide which the selection process initiated, pursuant to the advertisement No.2 of 2011 dated 12.10.2011, Annexure P-1 was cancelled.

Learned State counsel has referred to para 2 of the reply on merits of the written statement dated 03.05.2018 filed by way of affidavit of Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Punjab that in compliance to the order dated 17.12.2016 passed by this Court in CWP-15409-2014, the recruitment process was restarted, however, the petitioner having obtained 22 marks in general category, wherein he had applied, while the cut-off for it was 26, therefore, he was not called for interview, to which is there is no rebuttal. 3.
