The present petition challenges order dated 06.01.2015 (Annexure P-2) passed by the Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Patiala, rejecting the application of the petitioner for renewal of his permit of Mini Bus from Khanna to Ucha Pind. The petitioner further challenges the order dated 21.05.2015 (Annexure P-3), through which, his appeal against the above referred order passed by the Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Patiala, has been dismissed by the Presiding Officer, State Transport Appellate Tribunal, Punjab.

C. W. P. No. 20490 of 2015 2 Shorn of the unnecessary details, the facts, which are borne out from the record of the case and which have emerged from the arguments raised at the bar are that permit of the petitioner expired on 18.02.2006 and the application for its renewal was filed by the petitioner on 20.11.2014 i.e. after an unexplained delay of over 81⁄2 years. Further, till the date of passing of the order by the Appellate Authority, the petitioner had neither paid his taxes due on the vehicle nor did he possess the Taxes Clearance Certificate. A perusal of the appellate order further shows that even after the expiry of the license, the petitioner illegally continued to ply his Bus and he had further been found to be plying his Bus on unauthorized routes. For the above referred reasons, I am not inclined to interfere with the well reasoned order passed by the State Transport Appellate Tribunal, Punjab.

Resultantly, finding no merit in the present petition, the same is ordered to be dismissed.
