HARINDER SINGH SIDHU, J Bhupinder Singh and 11 others, through a writ petition bearing CWP No. 7396 of 2020, sought a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to decide their claim by stepping up their pay equal to their juniors belonging to scheduled caste.

This Court vide order dated 21.05.2020, disposed of the said writ petition with a direction to the respondents to look into the grievances made in their representation as well as legal notice and take a decision thereon by passing a speaking order.

Alleging wilful disobedience by the respondents, instant petition has been instituted.

A reply on behalf of the respondent- State of Punjab has been filed wherein it has been stated that a speaking order has been passed in respect of 10 out of 12 petitioners and that the process of considering the claim of two of the petitioners namely Satish Malhotra and Gulbag Singh, who have been asked to provide the relevant details, is under way. In view of the aforesaid, present petition is disposed of as MANOJ KUMAR 2021.02.24 09:38 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

COCP No.2251-2020 (O&M) #2# having become infructuous qua 10 of the petitioners, in the light of the speaking order having been passed. It is expected that after obtaining of the necessary details from the remaining two petitioners afore-stated, speaking order in their cases would also be passed within a period of next two months.

Needless to say that it would be open to the petitioner to assail the order, if so aggrieved.
