Prayer in this writ petition filed by the petitioners under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the case of the petitioners for regularization in view of the Punjab Government Policy dated 04.03.1999 (Annexure P-1) adopted by respondents vide office order dated 07.05.2014 (Annexure P-2). Further prayer has been made to issue direction to the respondents to decide the representation dated 17.05.2024 (Annexure P-9), in a time bound manner. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners, at the very outset, confines his prayer for deciding representation dated 17.05.2024 (Annexure P-9). He submits that at this stage, petitioners would be satisfied, if the said representation is decided by passing a speaking order within a time bound frame.

Mr. K.S. Kharbanda, Advocate, has accepted notice on behalf of the respondents and has no objection to the innocuous prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioners.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the record of the case.

Without going into the merits of the case at this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to decide representation dated 17.05.2024 (Annexure P-9), submitted by the petitioners expeditiously, by passing a speaking order, preferably within a period of 03 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.

Liberty is granted to the petitioners to supplement the representation dated 17.05.2024 (Annexure P-9), within a period of 02 weeks from today.
