HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI, J.(ORAL) Present petition has been filed by the petitioners wherein, the petitioners have alleged threat to their life and liberty at the hands of respondents No.9 to 11, who are the police officials. The further prayer of the petitioners is that the departmental action be taken against the said police officials keeping in view the fact that the petitioners have been harassed by them.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that with regard to the grievance, which has been raised in the present petition, the petitioners have filed representation to the various authorities including the Commissioner of Police, Amritsar on 05.10.2020 (Annexure P-2) and the said representation is still pending consideration with the Commissioner of Police, Amritsar i.e. respondent No.4 and the petitioners will be satisfied at this stage, in case a time bound direction is issued to respondent No.4 to decide the said representation by passing an appropriate speaking order. Mr. Sandeep Singh Deol, learned Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, who has joined the proceedings through video conference, keeping in view the service of advance copy of petition, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and raises no objection for deciding the representation of the petitioner dated 05.10.2020 (Annexure P-2) in a time bound manner by passing an appropriate speaking order.
Without commenting upon the merits of the case or about the entitlement of the petitioners for the relief which has been claimed by them in the representation dated 05.10.2020 (Annexure P-2), the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4 to decide the representation dated 05.10.2020 (Annexure P-2) within a period of six weeks from the receipt of copy of this order.
