SANDEEP MOUDGIL, J (Oral) The jurisdiction of this Court has been invoked under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for directing the official respondents nos.2 & 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of respondent no.4 to 11.

Learned State counsel submits that a speaking order dated 21.05.2025 has been passed on the representation submitted by the petitioners. A copy of the same has been supplied to the counsel for the petitioners. The relevant part of the order read as under:- "During the course of the enquiry, on 23.05.2025, ASI Jaswant Singh No.862/TT, Police Staton Bhikhiwind, District Tarn Taran, recorded the statements of the parents of the petitioners and they recorded their statements separately. From the statements of respondent No. 4 i.e. Satnam Singh (Father of Petitioner No.1),and respondent No. 5 i.e. Balwinder Kaur (Mother of Petitioner No. 2),jointly affirming that Petitioner No. 1 Rajbir Kaur is their youngest daughter. Her aged about 29 years d she got married to Palwinder Singh (her sister-in-law's son). Her family members have no objection to their daughter's marriage. They have no concern with them.

Furthermore, from the statement of Rano i.e. mother of Petitioner No.2 and Surjit Singh i.e. father of Petitioner No. 2, recorded by ASI Jaswant Singh on 23.5.2025, and they jointly affirm that their youngest son, Palwinder Singh and Rajbir Kaur have solemnized the marriage and Palwinder Singh's aged about 29 years old. Their parents' family is living in the village of Mari Samra, District Tarn Taran. Where is her brother Satnam Singh's daughter Rajbir Kaur and her aged about 29 years are, living. Her son, Palwinder Singh and the daughter of her brother, namely Rajbir Kaur, have solemnized the marriage with their consent. Now, AVIN KUMAR 2025.05.26 18:53 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this judgment/order.

CRWP No.5466 of 2025 [2] Palwinder Singh and Rajbir Kaur are not present in the house. who have gone on a long tour out of State. There is no danger to them of any kind. They don't need any police protection.

That, on the explained circumstances above, and the recorded statements, found that no further action is deemed necessary. Accordingly, the petition is ordered to be filed in the record room. A copy of the speaking order is being provided to the complainants free of cost. They have been informed that, should they be dissatisfied with their order, they retain the right to appeal within three days from the receipt of the order to the Deputy. Superintendent of Police, Sub Division Bhikhiwind, District Tarn Taran." In the light of above, learned counsel for the petitioners prays for withdrawal of the present petition.

Prayer is accepted.

Dismissed as withdrawn.

However, the petitioners would be at liberty to avail alternate remedy by way of appeal as per notification No.HOME-HM-40 40SECM/14/20252H4/63 dated 23.01.2025 issued by the Department of Home Affairs, Punjab, Government of Punjab (Home-4 Branch).
