***** JASPAL SINGH, J.(Oral) By virtue of instant writ petition preferred under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, petitioner has sought issuance of a writ especially in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to release pension and pensionary benefits i.e. GPF, gratuity, leave encashment etc. which has been withheld by respondent-department. 2.
Reply by way of affidavit of Mr. Sham Sunder, District Treasury Officer, Mansa on behalf of respondent No.5 has been filed in Court today and same is taken on record.

A glance at the reply transpires that all the retiral benefits have been released to the petitioner during the pendency of instant petition but there is considerable delay in making the payment, for which, no interest has not been paid. The only relief now, which the petitioner claims is with regard to interest on delayed payment.

Without expressing any opinin on the merits of the case, instant petition is disposed of with the direction to respondents to calculate and make the interest @ 9% per annum on the delayed payments, after expiry of three months from the date of retirement till the actual payments, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.

However, if the petitioner still feels aggrieved of the order passed by the concerned authority, she shall be at liberty to have recourse to the other remedies available to her as well as to approach this Court.
